The Erasmus+ programme

Erasmus + (2014-2020) is the new 16 billion euro catch-all framework program for education, training, youth and sport. It is built on the well-known and respected EU brand of the highly successful Erasmus student exchange program. All previous programs like Youth in Action, Erasmus and LLP are included in Erasmus+. It is divided into 3 principal pillars: education and formation, youth, and sport.
Although Erasmus+ started as a program of the European Commission on Higher Education as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme, at present it covers all levels In the educational sector: School, VET, Higher Education and Adult Education.
The main objective of Erasmus plus is to improve employability of the youth by acquiring supplementary competences appreciated by employers, as well as improving their language skills and flexibility.
It is based on formal and informal training beyond the EU, with a clear internationalisation objective to improve the educational and training skills of people and raise employability in students, teachers and staff.
In this context, IES Mar de Alborán has taken part in the Project from the very beginning in Higher Education, applying for and being granted the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) in its first Call , and later participating in student and teacher mobility actions since then. At present all our VET and HVET students and teaching staff are eligible to take part in Erasmus+ actions.
These programs will allow students and teachers to improve their academic and professional skills and gain greater recognition.
To promote educational and mobility European projects, the school has designated a coordinator responsible for European projects and educational mobility: Ms. Maria del Carmen Francés Montañés. Moreover, to integrate all the school sectors in the decision taking, implementation and evaluation of this program, the School Board have agreed to set up a specific commission.
